{"id":7526,"date":"2020-11-25T16:11:42","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T16:11:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brohyddgen.cymru\/?p=7526"},"modified":"2026-08-19T10:04:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T10:04:11","slug":"face-coverings-and-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brohyddgen.cymru\/index.php\/2020\/11\/25\/face-coverings-and-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Face coverings and schools"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"et_pb_section_0 et_pb_section et_section_regular et_block_section\"><div class=\"et_pb_row_0 et_pb_row et_block_row\"><div class=\"et_pb_column_0 et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et-last-child et_block_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_0 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Face coverings and schools<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Visitors to Powys schools, including parents and carers dropping off and picking up children, should wear face coverings to keep themselves and others safe from coronavirus, the county council has said.<\/p>\n<p>The Welsh Government issued updated operation guidance on the use of face coverings in schools and colleges across Wales.<\/p>\n<p>The guidance now states that face coverings should be worn:<\/p>\n<p>* by visitors to all schools, including parents and carers dropping off and picking up children<\/p>\n<p>* in all areas outside the classroom by staff and learners in secondary schools and colleges<\/p>\n<p>* on dedicated school and college transport for learners in year 7 and up.<\/p>\n<p>Powys County Council are reminding parents and carers as well as staff and learners to follow the updated guidance from the Welsh Government to keep themselves and others safe.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Education and Property, said: \u201cCoronavirus is still a very real threat to public health and we must do everything we can to prevent its spread.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSocial distancing and washing hands remain the most important measures that everyone in Powys must continue to take. Wearing face coverings can complement these measures, ensuring we are doing everything we can to keep ourselves and others safe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all have a part to play in helping to prevent the spread of coronavirus and keep each other safe.
