Dear Parents \/ Carers<\/p>\n

It is a pleasure to present you with the school handbook.\u00a0 Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent \/ carer will have to make.\u00a0 Parents want a good education for their children, but they also want their child to feel safe and secure and, above all else, happy.\u00a0 At Ysgol Bro Hyddgen we believe that we can offer all of these.<\/p>\n

This school is a welcoming, happy community where pupils are expected to work hard and behave well.\u00a0 We welcome and understand the different strengths of all our pupils.\u00a0 Since we are a small school we can cater for each pupil\u2019s needs and care for the individual pupil.\u00a0 Our numbers are increasing but we are still small enough to be able to provide high quality care and opportunities to all our pupils.<\/p>\n

We take particular pride in the attainment of our GCSE results this year, with 98% of pupils achieving at least 5 GCSE or an equivalent qualification. I can assure you the staff at the school will go out of their way to provide high quality lessons.\u00a0 We are also proud of our musical achievements and our successes at the Urdd Eisteddfod, on the playing field and in the numerous opportunities and clubs that are open to all. We have a very popular Sixth Form and we again take pride in their achievements with 69.2% gaining A* - C grades in their A level examinations; with 51.6% of those A* - B grades.<\/p>\n

A close relationship between home and school is important and parents are welcome to contact the school at any time.\u00a0 We update parents on the progress of their children every term.\u00a0 We care for our pupils and we believe that their time at school should be rewarding and fulfilling.\u00a0 Should you choose to send your child to Ysgol Bro Hyddgen, My staff and I are confident that you will have made the right decision.\u00a0 I look forward to meeting you soon, and if you have any queries or concerns please contact me at the school at any time.<\/p>\n

Key Stage 3: Years 7, 8 & 9<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The school offers a curriculum which creates a balance between the 11 curricular areas referred to in the National Curriculum and cross curricular elements such as Personal and Social Education and IT. Particular focus is placed on developing and improving the pupils\u2019 literacy and numeracy skills. \u00a0At Ysgol Bro Hyddgen, we have been innovative in adapting \u00a0the curriculum to meet with the National Literacy & Numeracy Framework requirements and we are proud to be seen to be leading the way in mid Wales in this field. Our intention in every aspect of our work is to equip the pupils with the required skills to enable them to realize their dreams in the 21st century.<\/p>\n
